Doing a night shift ( or several ) does make your minds wonder. And you'd start to think, what can i do for the next 5 hours and 45 minutes. So here we go :
My name is Ira, female, and i am a nurse in Australia, 2 years off uni. I am a fan of street food ( Auburn kebabs ! Ben's thai ! Cabramatta stuff ! enough said ) and a dog + book lover. I recently acquired an interest in knitting ( yep , knitting . And im only 24 years old ) and outdoor -ry type of exercise. So my blogs will be about all of those i reckon.
Now at the moment, i am craving for pizza at 2.20 am in the morning, its freezing cold, and i have drink 2 large cups of green tea, went to the toilet 5-6 times, tried online shopping ( have to remind myself that i do not need a thing ! and was successful :) ), and tried to finish this book that i am reading - Hope, by Lesley Pearse.
On the other side of the room my co-worker, fellow nurse, colleage, whatever you want to call it switch in between playing games in her computer, read a book, eat , and i dont know .. dozing off maybe, i had not have a look at her for about an hour now.
And we still have 0530 hours to go.
I worked in a detox facility, you know for alcoholics and substance user - as we suppose to call them. They are all asleep now. Bless them ! and thank God the ward is not full, and so far they all have been good clients. Makes me happy. I got paid tonight, to do almost next to nothing, except watching them sleep. But wait till morning shift come, hell then you gotta earn your wages. Has to wake up 0530 in this bloody freezing weather and deal with clients plus co-workers. Argh ! I dont know which ones are more difficult.
